Asking yourself questions can be a wonderful way of diving deep into yourself, a way of delving beneath the layers of self that you have built up.
Think of a small child, as they begin to explore their world … they are all about the questions!
An Artist’s Date is giving yourself two hours a week where you do something fun or inspiring (and hopefully both!), ON YOUR OWN, with no other objective than to enjoy yourself.
You’re filling yourself up with good thoughts, ideas, inspiration, all of which can feed into your creative work, or your creative life.
Asking yourself questions can be a way of diving deep into yourself. What I have found is that I will start by answering the question, then words will come, avenues of thought will open up and I will go down them; memories will surface and I will examine them; ideas will start to spark and I will follow their light.
Kat Shaw’s Green Tara Goddess stands for Liberation … when I draw this card, I know that it is time for me to release myself from whatever is holding me back. She tells us it is time for “total and utter honesty”, that it is time to “take a fierce stock check” of our lives and make conscious decisions to “step onto the path of liberty”.
For this, my first blog of 2022, I thought that I would share my end of year journal entry with you.
I hope that by being open and allowing you an insight into the sorts of things that come up for me when I write in my journal, I will encourage you to pick up your pen, grab a notebook (or a beautiful hand bound book created by yours truly!!), and journal it out … and maybe find a window into yourself.
When you write a journal every day, when you show up at the page even when you don’t “feel” like it, but you do it anyway, when you pick up the pen and you just get started, when you do all that, then the words come … and then the truths come.
You get to admit what your dreams are, what your desires are, who I want to be, the life I want to live.
